About the Role
Welford Systems is seeking a DevOps Engineering Intern to join our dynamic and innovative team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, automation, and monitoring. As a DevOps Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers to enhance system reliability, streamline deployment processes, and optimize performance across various platforms. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about automation, cloud technologies, and DevOps best practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to configure and manage infrastructure.
- Support infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Help automate tasks through scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration.
- Learn and implement security best practices in DevOps processes.
- Maintain and update documentation for DevOps workflows and processes.
- Gain experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support incident response and resolution in coordination with senior engineers.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD, and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, or Python) is a plus.
- Exposure to Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
- Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of networking, system administration, and security concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
